Are my Dr. Dre beats broken or is it the cable?

I have the Dr. Dre pros. they have two inputs for headphones. When i plug my cable into one side that side works and the other doesnt. the same thing happens when i switch the cord to the other side. also when i plug my friends earphones into the empty slot theirs dont work. whats the problem with mine? the headphones or the wire?
