My iphone has no sound without earphones!!?

Basically, my iphone 4's speaker works when i play music from my play lists and so on but when i go to use an app like angry birds, there is no sound from the app. To hear sound coming from apps i need to use earphones and I want to know what i can do so the sound from my apps can come from the built in speakers
